Accessibility Statement
Britannia Guest House is committed to ensure an appropriate accommodation service for prospective guests with disabilities. Due to the layout, Fire regulations and Council planning laws we are unable to provide facilities for guests with severe mobility limitations such as ramps and stair lifts.
However we welcome any enquiries from guests with disabilities, so we can discuss their needs and all reasonably attempts will be made to meet these.
General information
- Assistance dogs welcome in all rooms.
- Building meets with all current fire regulations
- Fire alarm is audible only
- Emergency information can be communicated verbally
- Copies of all public timetables are available
- Nearest train station is approx 14miles away in Newcastle
- Nearest Bus & Metro station is approx 1/3 of a mile away
- Taxis are available outside Bus & Metro stations.

- All rooms are fully en-suite and include Shower, hand basin and low level wc.
- Assistance with luggage is offered
- All rooms have remote control TV
- All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities
- All rooms have Hair dryers
- Mobile phone coverage is adequate for most networks
- Our breakfast menu can be described verbally if required
- A variety of dietary requirements can be catered for with advanced notification
- Fridges in some rooms so you can store insulin/medication/special foods
- WI FI available at no extra charge

- On street parking with no restrictions, no meters
- There is one step up to the front door
- The Dining room is situated on the ground floor, with three steps down
There are ten bedrooms in total, one is on the ground floor, five are on the first floor and four are on the second floor.

This is a Double/Single room located on the first floor, there are fourteen steps from ground floor level. There is no hand grab rail.
Bedroom 2
This is a Twin / King size bedroom located on the first floor, there are nineteen steps from ground level. There are no hand grab rails in shower.
Bedroom 3
This is a Twin / King size located on the first floor, there are nineteen steps from ground floor level. There is no hand grab rails in bathroom.
Bedroom 5
This is a Double/Single room located on the second floor, there are thirty seven steps from ground floor level, there are no hand grab rails in bathroom.
Bedroom 6
This room is a Family / Double / Twin located on the second floor, there are thirty seven steps from ground floor level. There are no hand grab rails in bathroom.
Bedroom 8
This is a Family/Double/twin located on the second floor, there are thirty seven steps from ground floor level. There are no hand grab rails in the bathroom.
Bedroom 9
This is a Double/Single located on the second floor, there are thirty seven steps from ground floor level. There are no hand grab rails in the bathroom.
Bedroom 10
This is a Family/Double/Twin located on the first floor, there are nineteen steps from ground floor level. There are no hand grab rails in the bathroom.

This is a Twin /Single located on the first floor, there are nineteen steps from ground floor level. There are no hand grab rails in the bathroom.
